The contactor programme CI 9 DC - 30 DC is based on two frame sizes. The small frame size consists of the CI 9 DC - 15 DC (4-7.5 kW), and the CI 25 DC - 30 DC range (11-15 kW) uses the large frame size. Both are equipped with three NO main contacts.

Typical applications are lifts, transport cooling and refrigeration, where control voltage is dc and a high inrush current is no problem. Combined with a thermal overload relay, a DC contactor switches and protects induction motors against overload and asymmetric load.

A wide range of clip-on aux. contacts, timers, surge suppressors, mechanical interlock and marking plates makes the CI 6-50 programme very flexible and suitable both for OEMs and panel builders.
